If you’re a working mum then you know just how difficult it is to balance home and work life. We get stuck in our own worlds so much that we can often wonder if we’re doing it “right.” While the truth is there is no one correct way to be a working mother it can still be encouraging to hear from like-minded women! That’s where podcasts can be a useful tool.

Whether or not you’re currently a working mum, these podcasts can provide a good perspective from mothers at various stages in parenthood and their careers! So, here are 3 of my favorite podcasts from working mums and beyond!

Superwomen with Rebecca Minkoff

This weekly podcast from fashion designer Rebecca Minkoff brings to light the raw vulnerabilities of life without filters! In intimate interviews with women from all walks of life, Rebecca encourages us to step into our roles as the superwomen we are. Her empowering perspective helps motivate women to step up as leaders in business and beyond while realizing that we’re not alone through the ups and downs of motherhood!

If you’re not sure where to start with the Superwomen podcast check out the Failure is a Part of Success episode where Rebecca interviews entrepreneur Jennifer Bandier who opens up about her resiliency and risks in starting her own activewear brand.

Women at Work by Harvard Business Review

From unequal pay to unfair treatment, there’s no doubt that women commonly face discrimination in the workplace– and the Women at Work Podcast by Harvard Business Review is here to talk about it! Hosts Amy Bernstein, Amy Gallo, and Emily Caulfield break down some of the obstacles women face in their careers through expert interviews, personal stories, and practical advice. They also get real in discussions about boundaries, reminding us that children don’t have to stand in the way of our career success!

One of my favorite episodes on this podcast is All the Help we Can Get. This conversation recognizes how difficult it often is for mums to ask for help, but encourages us to confidently ask for a lending hand!

The Motherly Podcast

The Motherly Podcast interviews inspiring women about their work, personal, and parental lives to uplift other mums. From women like Kristen Bell to Christina Perri and more, these conversations address all things motherhood. Hosted by award-winning journalist Liz Tenety the Motherly Podcast aims to provide personal experiences and insights that remind mums of all stages that we’re not alone!

To get started with The Motherly Podcast I highly recommend the Hillary Duff on Motherhood, Loneliness, and How it All Goes by so fast episode. She goes into her first job as a mother and balancing work and parenting to be the best mum possible for her kiddos.

Currently working or not, being a mum is a full-time job in itself! It can be helpful to hear from other mums about their motherly experiences so that we can collectively work to love our families in the ways that work best for us. So next time you’re in the car or getting ready in the morning tune into one of these podcasts for a bit of encouragement!
