If you’re anything like me, you love greenery in your home but just don’t have the time to keep a plant alive! Keeping indoor plants around the house is a great natural way to improve your air quality, reduce stress, and improve your mood.
Just because you don’t have hours of free time to garden doesn’t mean you can’t be a plant mom! The good news is that you don’t have to have a green thumb to keep these easy-maintenance plants alive in your home.
Here are 5 of my favorite easy-maintenance plants to try out in your home!
Aloe Vera
Aloe Vera is a type of succulent plant that can benefit your health! Known for purifying the air of formaldehyde and benzene chemicals, Aloe Vera works to keep your home clean. By releasing oxygen both day and night, it can help improve air quality and benefit your family’s respiratory health.
Aloe Vera is also easy to take care of. They thrive in bright sunlight and only require watering about every two weeks! So put your new favorite succulent in a window, sit back, and enjoy.
Snake Plant
Snake Plants are known to thrive on neglect! With their tall, stiff, dark green leaves, snake plants can go for up to a month without water. This makes it the perfect plant for busy moms who forget to water their plants. In fact, it’s best to let their soil dry out between waterings!
Additionally, snake plants can thrive in any type of light, meaning you don’t necessarily have to make room by your windows. Since snake plants can eventually grow very large leaves this plant is perfect for filling empty spaces and brightening up any room.
Golden Pothos
One of the most resilient plants, the Golden Pothos has a reputation as a perfect beginner's houseplant! Golden Pothos can survive in both bright and low light conditions and only require watering every 1-2 weeks or when the soil dries out. Their trailing vine features make Golden Pothos stunning as in hanging pots or placed up on high shelves. This also keeps it out of kids’ reach so you can avoid any dirty messes!
Succulents
Succulent plants are easy to care for since they can hold water for long periods of time! That means they can survive in dry conditions and don’t require much maintenance. There are a wide variety of succulents ranging in size, color, and style to fit your space!
When caring for your succulents just remember to only water when the soil is completely dry to avoid overwatering. Ideally, keep them in a window to ensure they get enough sunlight throughout the day.
Monstera Deliciosa
One of my favorite plants, the Monstera Deliciosa, grows quickly to become the centerpiece of any room! They can survive in low light but will grow faster in direct sunlight. It’s best to water them every 5–10 days and keep them out of reach of children and pets.
You don’t have to have all the time in the world to make your home a stunning plant haven. If you’re looking for an easy-to-care-for houseplant to liven up your home, try out one of these 5!
